Andrew Cuomo drops promo for new podcast with first guest Anthony Scaramucci
Disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo released a promotional trailer Tuesday for his new podcast — claiming that “I’m here to help” because “no one is listening” to each other amid all the hot air to which he’s now adding.
Cuomo’s subscription-only yak-fest — titled “As a Matter of Fact…” — is set to debut Thursday with guest Anthony Scaramucci, who was fired after just 10 days as then-President Donald Trump’s communications director in 2017.
More recently, Scarmucci donated the legal maximum of $22,600 to US Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-Long Island) for his failed Democratic primary challenge of Gov. Kathy Hochul, who succeeded Cuomo following his resignation amid a sexual harassme꧅nt scandal.
Former state legislative staffer Erica Vladimer, who co-founded Albany’s Sexual Harassment Working Group, blasted Cuomo’s attempt to regain the spotlight.
“Here’s a matter of fact for Cuomo: He broke multiple state and federal laws when he subjected staffers to sexual harassment,” Vladimer said.
“Until he admits to the harm he caused, the only matters he’s qualified to discuss are matters of harm and hypocrisy.”
In his video promo, the Democratic former governor — who has denied the harassment allegations against him — said, “My way has always been to step up, take responsibility, provide people the facts and trust their judgment.”
“Everyone is yelling, no one is listening. And we have lost faith in one another,” he said.
“But I’m here to help change that with a proven track record of working successfully with both Democrats and Republicans.”
The announcement came just hours after Cuomo’s younger brother, Chris Cuomo, conducted a combative TV interview with Kanye West over his controversial claims regarding the “Jewish underground media mafia.”
The move by the younger Cuomo — who was fired by CNN last year following the revelation of his efforts to help his brother battle the harassment allegations — appeared designed to boost the dismal ratings ♚of his new show on the News Nation cable network.
🐠Andrew Cuomo’s podcast is being distributed by Quake Media, which charges $2.99 a month for access to its tiny stable of hosts.
They include former baseball star Pete Rose, who was banned for life frಞom America’s pastime for betting on games and now offers lis🥃teners gambling tips.
Another host is liberal political commentator Marc Lamont Hill, who was fired by CNN in 2018 for giving an anti-Israel speech at the United Nation𒊎s.
Neither Quake Media nor Andrew Cuomo’s spokesman would what, if anything, the former governor was getting paid.
