NYC carjackers steal BMW at gunpoint, crash into accomplices while trying to flee cops
A carjacking crew stole a BMW at gunpoint in Queens early Tuesday — and then crashed into a Mercedes with their accomplices inside while trying to make a getaway, authorities said.
Five men held up a 39-𝔉year-old man and stole his BMW X5 and cellphone around 1:30 a.m. at 164th Street and Chapin Parkway in Ja🍬maica Hills, cops said.
Some of the suspects got into the B💟MW, while 🌞others hopped into a Mercedes-Benz to flee, authorities said.
When cops tried to stop the crew, the drivers of each car tried to get away — but crashed into each other, police said.

Three of the suspects were arres🐬ted with charges pendin🎀g.
Two of them were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and the other to NewYork Presbyterian-Queens, all with minor injuries, ꦯauthorities said.

The two other suspects got away on foot and weren’t caught until later in the morning.
The gun was not recovered.
The inci💯dent is the latest in a sღeries of recent carjackings citywide.

Last week, a man crashed his Mercedes into a city bus in the Bronx🐎 while trying to dodge an assailant, then carjacked a guy putting a kid in a Honda, only to smash that vehicle into a cyclist and then a tree, cops said.
That chaotic ordeal came hours after another wild scene when a teenage duo carjacked a man of his 2022 BMW at gunpoint in Midtown — threatening, “I’m going to blow your brains out. I’m going to kill you” — before taking it on a joyride uptown and striking three cop cars on their tail, cops and police sources said.
