Born in 1854, Sousa was known for the military marches he created including “The Stars and Stripes Forever” and “Semper Fidelis” before his death at age 77 in 1932. He created much of his composing at this waterfront estate known as Wildbank. He also served as Leader of the Marine Band under five US Presidents, from 1880 to 1892.
The property, at 12 Hicks Lane, is now recognized as a National Historic Landmark. It sits on 2.6 acres and comes with its own deepwater dock, private beach, gardens and views from the water𓆏 to the Manhattan skyli📖ne.
There’s a 6,000-square-foot main house — with six bedrooms and 5½ baths, built in 1907 — and a two-bedroom gatehouse for guests along with a tennis court.
