George Santos claimed to have aided kids with genetic disorder

Lying Long Island Rep. George Santos‘ campaign website once touted how he and his family aided children suffering from a rare blistering condition — but organizations advocating for patients with epidermolysis bullosa say they have no records of the Republican making any donations, according to a report.

The freshman lawmaker’s House campaign website claimed in November 2020 that he and his family have been “engaged in helping children with EB (epidermolysis bullosa).”

“Through various nonprofit organizations across the country supporting children worldwide, they have been proud financers [sic] of organizations that help these children in remote parts of the world where they are denied basic hygiene to care for their wounds,” the website said, according to .

But organizations that actually do assist patients suffering from EB — which causes easy blistering of the skin and mucous membranes — that they know Santos, 34, only by his reputation for falsehoods, not for his charity work.

“I was not aware of George Santos making any claim to have volunteered or donated to any EB ch🙈arity globally,” Brett Kopelan, the executive ꧙director of, part of a worldwide network that advocates for people with EB, told the outlet.

“In our database and general records, we have nothing showing any volunteerism or any charitable donations in his or his family’s names,” he added

In severe cases of EB, blisters form inside the body — including on the lining of the stomach and the inside of the mouth. The condition has also been known to kill infants and cause fatal skin cancers in young adults. There is no cure.

Because Santos haไs claimed his parents were born in Brazil, Vice News checked with SOS EB Kids in the South American country.

“We searched our records and did not find any donations from Mr. George Santos, Mrs. Fatima Devolder or Mr. Junior Santos,” a spokesman for the organization told the outlet, citing the names of Santos, his mother and his father.

According to the Washington Post, Santos’ website was changed in November 2022 to remove the EB reference and replace it with language that says he supports “other organizations that help at-risk children and American veterans.”

The congressman’s office did not respond to Vice News’ request for comment, but Joe Murray, his lawyer, did.

“As you can imagine, there’s a number of investigations or at least reported investigations. It seems like every prosecutor within the area has announced some type of investigation, although none of them have called me. So it would be inappropriate to comment,” he said.

Santos admitted to The Post in December that he falsified large parts of his resume, including his work experience, edu𝓰cation, family history, and his religious background.
