My employer has announced that they’re laying off 10% of the workforce. I haven’t heard anything about my job security. Am I safe, or should I start looking for a new job?
Those are excellᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚent q꧙uestions and one that should be asked of your boss.
Regardless of the answer you receive, you should still be active⭕ in a job se𓆏arch because you just never know.
However, that doesn’t mean that 𒆙you should jump at the firstꦓ offer, either.
A 10% cut means that 90% won’t be cut, and often, while job cuts are obviously unfortunate for those affected, they can mean new opportunities for remaining employees as com♕panies look to restructure and retain other talent.
So ask questions,🔴 indicate your interest in staying with the company, do what you can to get noticed forဣ the right reasons and remain engaged.
Meanwhile, begin a job search to give yourself the best chance of 🍎having the most options availabl⭕e to you.
I don’t make enough money to make ends meet, so I’ve been moonlighting as an Uber driver. I work remotely, so I’m able to get work done while driving or on-call. Can I get in trouble for doing both jobs at the same time if my performance in either isn’t suffering?
Moo🐻nlighting is not uncommon, but it’s not a protected 😼right.
It can depend on your employer’s policy, but most certainly few employers would be OK with someone doing two jo🐲bs at the same time on what they consider “company time.”
So yes, you could get fired for moonlighဣting during the compaജny’s time.
Personally I can barely contain my frustration with drivers who are incessantly talking on🙈 the phone while driving.
It may be legal, but I d💯on’t want to hear the conversation.
I don’t know what Uber’s restrictio❀ns are about ♚what you do while driving, but I imagine that focusing on anything other than the road and providing a safe ride for your passengers and others on the road would be prohibited too.
I admire the work ethic, but for your benefit — a♋nd others — I r♎ecommend you do each job separately, provided you can get proper rest.
