Geraldo Rivera foiled trying to buy dinner for Fleet Week Marines

Veteran journalist Geraldo Rivera tried to buy a steak dinner for a group of Marines in town for Fleet Week in M𓂃anhattan — but two other good Samaritans beat him t🐭o it.

The Fox News journo, 79, shared the a🐈necdote on Twitter on Friday morning.

“Fleet Week in NY. Ran into group of US Marines having dinner at famed Smith & Wollensky steak house. I told waiter I’d like to pick up their check. Waiter told me there were 2 other offers ahead of me,” Rivera said.

“Bless our service folk & Remember our fallen warriors,” he added.

The longtime journalist, who has been on air for more than 50 years, works as a Fox News senior correspondent and appears regularly on shows such as “The Five.”

Fleet Week, which kicks off ahead of Memorial Day weekend each year, brought thousands of servicemen and women from the Navy, Marines and Coast Guard to New York’s five boroughs.

As the 35th Annual Fleet Week got under way Wednesday, sailors and Marines gathered on Times Square’s famous Red Stairs before taking to Broadway.

Th✅e event has been hel𒊎d in New York City since 1984 but was held virtually in 2020 and 2021 because of COVID 19.

This year’s Parade of Ships includes vessels from the US Navy, Coast Guard and Naval Academy, as well as the Italian Navy, the Royal Canadian Navy and the Royal Navy.

Fleet Week runs through May 30.
