Former Wimbledon champ Garbiñe Muguruza marrying fan she randomly met in NYC

The love story th🃏at began 🅷with a chance Central Park encounter continues with an exciting engagement.

Former French Open and Wimbledon champion Garbiñe Muguruza she and her boyfriend, Arthur Borges, are getting hitched — nearly two years after the model approaꦦched the 29-year-old athlete in New Yoꦆrk around the time of the 2021 U.S. Open.

“My hotel was close to Central Park and I was bored, so I thought I should go for a walk,” the tennis star recalled to American media, .

“I go out and I run into him on the street. Suddenly, he turns and says, ‘Good luck at the U.S. Open.’ I was left thinking, ‘Wow, he’s so handsome.'”

The twosome continued 💯to meet up and regularly strolled through Central Park, The Sun reports.

Muguruza, a former world No. 1, revealed that Borges poꦚpped the quesꦐtion this month.

“You had me at ‘Hello,'” she posted on Instagram, geotagging the dreamy proposal from Marbella, Spain.

Muguruza, who has shared snippets of her and Borges’ relationship on social media over the years, about what the couple’s future nuptials may look like.

“We would like it to be next year, in the summer, near the beach and in Spain, because it is the place that most unites us,” she said.

Muguruza, who hails from Venezuela, is a two🌜-time Grand Slam champion, winning the French Open 💫in 2016 and Wimbledon in 2017.

She re🐈ached the fourth round of the U.S. Open𝄹 in 2017 and 2021.

Murguruza has been on a hiatus from tennis, telling fans in April she is “going to lengthen this period till summer,” .
