Viktor Hovland caddies for former teammate fresh off massive PGA Tour win

No rest for the champ.

Viktor Hovland, less than 24 hours after pulled off his biggest win of his PGA career on Sunday at the Memorial Tournament, caddied for former college teammate Zach Bauchou, who is looking to secure a spot in the U.S. Open in Monday’s 36-hole final qualifying round.

The Norwegian won his first title on U.S. soil in Dublin, Ohio, before heading to nearby Columbus to carry Bauchou’s bag.

⛄Bauchou was playing at Lakes Golf & Country Club and Brookside Golf & Country Club in a bi♉d to make it through the final stage of U.S. Open qualifying.

The duo was part of Oklahoma State University’s 2018 National Championship team.

Bachcou has some work to do to catch up to the World’s No. 5-ranked golfer.

Hovland, 26, fell short as runner-up in last month’s PGA Championship who finished joint runner-up at last month’s PGA Championship, unable to become the first major championship winner ever from his home country.

He was hanging with the later winner Brooks Koepka, who was already a four-time major winner, but with three holes left to play, he hit a downward spiral after hitting a 9-iron from a fairway bunker o🐟n the 16th hole, putting the ball in the grassy bank of the bunker.

As a result, he was forced to take an unplayable penalty stroke to get the ball out, giving him a double bogey which was 🦩impossible to make up for.

Koepka took advantage and later birdied the 16th anꦡd ended 10-under par as Hovla😼nd fell to 6-under.

Hovland will be making his fifth U.S. Open appearance on 𒅌June 15-18 ♕at the Los Angeles Country Club.
