Fox News’ Jesse Watters nabs 8 p.m. primetime broadcast slot

Fox News announced on Monday that Jesse Watters will fill the network’s 8 p.m. weekday slot with his namesake “Jesse Watters Primetime” broadcast.

The shift — part of a larger programming shakeup following the departure of Tucker Carlson in April — will also move Laura Ingraham’s “The Ingraham Angle” up from its 10 p.m. spot to 7 p.m.

Sean Hannity will remain in his 9 p.m. time slot with “Hannity.”

Greg Gutfeld and ♛Trace Gallagher, meanwhile, will both shift up an hour to 10 p.m. and 11p.m., respectively.

The lineup will be effective as of July 17.

“Jesse Watters Primetime” debuted last January starring the 44-year-old Philadelphia native, who speaks with newsmakers and politicians with a “fresh take,” according to Fox’s .

In🉐 Q1 of 2023, the show saw nearly 2.2 million viewers, including 304,000 in the highly-coveted demographic of 25-to-54-year-olds, according to data collected by .

It was Fox’s No. 2-rated show behind “The Five,” which also stars Watters alongside Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Jeanine Pirro and other rotating hosts, USTVDB’s data showed.

Last week, Fox resumed its reign as cable television’s No. 1 most-watched network after it was edged out by MSNBC for a short-lived stint fueled by former President Donald Trump’s federal indictment.

During the week ended June ꧂18, Fox took back the lead in primetime viewership with 1.6 million viewers, outpacing MSNBC’s 1.4 million viewers and CNN’s paltry 654,000 viewers, according to figures provided by Fox.

Fox also saw a 14% uptick in the primetim💝e demo to 158,000 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.,൲ the data showed.

Meanwhile, MSNBC 𓆉lost 8% of its primetime de✨mo week to week, with 159,000 viewers. CNN drew a 132,000 viewers in the category.

Last month — when network parent Fox Corp. aౠnnounced an 18% rise in revenue t༺o $4.08 billion — chief executive Lachlan Murdoch affirmed the company’s primetime programming strategy following its $787.5 million settlement with Domi🦄nion Voting Systems and dismissal of Carlson.

Murdoch said the network i📖s “always adjusting our programming and our lineup and that’s what we continue to do.”
