‘Wheel of Fortune’ hiring Ryan Seacrest was ‘all wrong’: ‘Jeopardy!’ champ

Whatever your feelings about Ryan Seacrest taking the “Wheel” from Pat Sajak, at least it’s been a relatively quick, decisive process.

Jeopardy champion James Holzhauer on Tuesday to comment on Seacrest being named the new “Wheel of Fortune” host — and mock the long, winding road “Jeopardy!” went on to find a replacement for the late Alex Trebek.

(Trebek after a lengthy battle 👍with pancreati🎃c cancer.)

“Wheel of Fortune went about this all wrong,” Holzhauer tweeted sarcastically. “First you subject the contestants and viewers to an endless parade of temps who don’t prepare before hosting Then the producer in charge of the search says ‘Actually, *I* would be the perfect host’ Then ‘jk we have two hosts now.'”

Jeopardy interim guest hosts included Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper, LeVar Burton, Aaron Rodgers, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, David Faber, Joe🔯 Buck, Ken Jennings, Bill Whitaker, Mayim Bialik, Savannah 🔯Guthrie and Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

In July 2022, it was announced that Bialik and Jennings would share official “Jeopardy!” hosting duties.

Sajak announced earlier this month that he was leaving the show, and it took ju🗹st over two weeks for his success🅷or to be named.

Seacrest lovers have, naturally, welcomed the news, but other “Wheel” fans haven’t been thrilled about his being given a spin at the hosting gig.

“Should’ve moved Vanna White to host ꦏand had Ryan Seacrest turning letters. Prove me wr🎃ong,” .

White, meanwhile, has reportedly “lawyered up” as questions arise about her future on “Wheel.”

Meanwhile, some disagreed with Holzhauer’s take on the situation.

“In Jeopardy’s defense, they had far bigger (and more intelligent and charming) shoes to fill than did Wheel. Also, the parade of temps was entertaining. Seacrest might easily be viable sub for Pat, but no chance he’d fly as Alex’s replacement,” one user jabbed.

“I think I’d rather they did it like Jeopardy because I’m tired of seeing Ryan EVERYWHERE! Pick someone else!” another user said.
