Gilgo Beach murder suspect Rex Heuermann’s wife loved planning vacations, going to comic book conventions

The wife of the alleged Gilgo Beach killer loved comic book conventions and planning vacations — but hated shopping in large crowds and cold weather, according to a long-dormant Twitter account.  

The Twitter account attributed to the name Asa Ellerup uses the handleapparently after an obscure character in a video game, 𒈔with the user claimin🐓g to be based on Long Island.

“Wow, spring ♛is creeping up fast! 💜Time to plan a summer vacation. Now where to go, hmm, within the U.S. sounds good. Ideas anyone?,” says

Many tweets 𝔍centered around her passion for comic books and conventions.

“Met Christopher Golden at B💃oston Comic Con. Awesome. Now it looks like they are going to mov🌳e that convention to the convention center next,” referring to the novelist and comic book author.

On Jan. 14, 2010, she “SanDiego Comic Con sold out Ugh, now would have been a good time to make plans💦 to go. Looking forward to the spring NYC Comic con is next.”

Two days later, she corrected herself and set her eyes on traveling 🐻to Boston.

“Nope, Boston Comic con is next. Christopher Golden will 👍be there yeah. Good lineup. I can get both Mike and Christopher to sign Baltimore,” 

Despite being of Icelandic heritage, Ellerup appears to be no fan𓄧 of the snow or cold📖 weather.

“Didn’t get too much snow this ꦇtime, I’m not in the mood to shovel snow, but it is cold outside,” she said on 

Who is Gilgo Beach serial killer suspect Rex Heuermann?

A suspected serial killer has ♐been arrested over the notorious Gilgo Beach m𒆙urders in Long Island, The Post can confirm.

Rex Heuermann, 59, a married dad of t𝕴wo and architect at a New York City firm, has a home on 1st Avenue in Massapequa Park, sources told The Post.

His arrest is tied to the “Gilgo Four,” four women — Melissa Barthelemy, 24, Megan Waterman, 22, Amber Lynn Costello, 27, and Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25 — found wrapped in burlap within days of each other in 2010. 

The body of Barthelemy was first found along Ocean Parkw𒁃ay on Dec. 11, 2010, sparking fears of a seria🅺l killer in the area.



By spring 2011, the number of bodies had climbed to 10, including eight women as w💎ell as an unidentified man and toddler.

Heuermann’s arrest comes after Suffolk County’s new police commissioner created a special Gilgo Beach Homicide Investigation Task Force in February 2022.

Six days later, she provided another weather 🐈update: “It Snowed, got 13 inches. Don’t like when others don’t move vehicles when the plow is coming [sic]. I always get more snow to shovel.”

“It’s been ☂raining and snowing, I stepped in a huge puddle of slush disguised as snow! I’m freezing I need a warm bath and hot soup,” she later 

Ellerup appeared to enjoy spendi꧋ng time with family on Thanksgiving but hated the havoc that went along with shopping in cr𒆙owded stores.

“꧒Went to the Macy’s Day parade on Thanksgiving it was awesome, ate turkey with family. Dad, Sis, and old friends. More Turkey or dinner tonight,”

“Ugg. The mall is a nightmare, much worse than Bl🎐ack Friday. Will the madness ever end? Time for online shopping. Amazon here I come,” 

It also 🏅appears Elle🧔rup didn’t have the greatest start to 2010.

The account was opened in November✅ 2009. The last posts were in April 2010.

Ellerup’s husband, Rex Heuermann, was arrested Thursday in connection with three of the Gilgo Beach killings, and is a prime suspect in a fourth death, many of which were committed while she was out of town, authorities said.

Hair found on three of the victims was later found to have DNA belonging to Ellerup, authorities🐠 said.

She is not suspected of any involvem♏ent with the murders.

Heuermann, a Long Islander and ꦰ;father&nbꩲsp;of two pleaded not guilty on Friday to a slew of charges — including three counts of first-degree murder — related to the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Costello, whose bodies were all found dumped along Ocean Parkway near Gilgo State Park in December 2010.

Heue🍒rmann is also the prime suspect in the death of Maureen Brainard-Barnes, who was the first of the so-called “Gilgo Four” to disappear, the document stated.

When Waterman was reported missin🍨g in June 2010, Ellerup was in Maryland, prosecutors said.

She was in🐼 New ♍Jersey in September 2010 when Costello vanished and in Iceland in July 2009 when Barthelemy was last seen.

Heuermann was arrested Thursday and charged in the deaths of Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello, whose bodies were among 11 sets of remains found on Gilgo Beach over the years.

Ellerup didn’t join Twitter until November 2009 and didn’t post any messages during the time period the victims went m👍issing.
