Greg Olsen has🍸 a rational fear of propagating phallic imagery.
Olsen, the top color commentator on Fox Sports’ NFL coverage, revealed that he consciously tries to avoid drawing graphics that look like penises on the telestrator.
“I’ve messed up a million things, drawing the wrong thing,” Olsen said on Barstool Sports’ “Pardon My Take” podcast.
Co-host PFT Commenter chimed in, asking, “The telestrator dong?”
Olsen answered affirmatively.
“There’s so many things in NFL football that look like penises,” he said, noting that he also seeks to avoid double entendres that could be construed as sexual innuendo.
“And there’s a lot of like very questionable verbiage that you use.”
The group threw around phrases like “penetration” and “come inside”.
“You’ve got to be careful,” Olsen continued. “And I’m not going to lie, there’s times where I’m like here’s a safety, here’s a safety, and you want to show that third little zone, and I’m like, ‘Nope, delete.”
Olsen and Kevin Burkhardt were promoted to the top spot on the Fox Sports NFL announcing depth chart last season after Joe Buck and Troy Aikman left for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” coverage.
However, Tom Brady has signed what The Post’s Andrew Marchand reported as a 10-year, $375 million deal to become the network’s top game analyst now that he’s retired.
While Brady stepped away from football, he has said he is taไking a gap year before stepping into the booth.
Olsen continues to say that he wants to make the decision tough on Fox to drop him f൩rom the top team for Brady.
“I knew last year that was going to be the swirling question,” .
“I knew that was going to be the uncomfortable elephant in the room of well yeah you’re doing it now, but you’re just kind of the benchwarmer — you’re just keeping the seat warm until Brady comes.
“My approach was to just kind of lean into it. Be the one that makes it awkward. Be the one that brings it up. Don’t shy away from it, because you can either let it crush you or you can say, Hey I’m gonna have a blast with this thing until they call me and kick me out.”
