Runaway car slams into beauty salon — missing patron by mere feet — in heart-pounding new video
Heart-pounding video footage captured the moment a runaway car slammed into an Arizona beauty salon over the weekend — missing a patron by mere feet.
The tan sedan is seen speeding into the Belle Vie Salon Studios in Chandler around 1 p.m. Saturday — narrowly missing a man sitting on a couch in the lobby, footage shows.
Another camera shows salon worker Ashley Upton calmly cutting a man’s hair inside the shop when a massive crash shakes the wall in front of her — leaving her rattled.
“Hearing that loud noise, you don’t know where it’s coming from,” Upton told the outlet. “I honestly think I had an angel on my side today because if it was another foot to the left I could’ve been severely hurt.
“Other people could have been severely hurt,” she added. “I’m just so thankful that everything happened the way it did and no one is severely injured.”
Police said🌳 the errant driver꧟ was an elderly woman who lost control of the vehicle in the parking lot.
The woman, who was not identified, suffered a minor leg injury and no on🅺e else was hurt.
Police said the car also clipped a vehicle in 🅷the parking lot before crashing into the shop.
“I was just pulling out of the parking lot [and] she hit me,” Mario Cardona, who was driving the second car, told AZ Family.
“You can’t get bent out of shape. You just got to roll with it,” Cardona added. “There’s nothing I could’ve done to change it.”
