Whoopi Goldberg ‘not dead’ amid wild fan theories about her ‘View’ absence

Whoopi Goldberg set the record straight Wednesday as to why she’s been absent from “The View” for the start of Season 27.

The daytime show co-hosts revealed Tuesday that Goldberg, 67, has her third bout with COVID-19 — but apparently, accor💯ding to Joy Behar, some viewers hatched their own ideas about her wherܫeabouts.

“People write, ‘Well, she got the vaccination, how come she still gets it?’” Behar, 80, said on Wednesday’s episode before showing from Goldberg. “Because she’s not dead, she’s just a little bit under the weather!”

“If you don’t get [the vaccination] and you get the disease, you might die … this type of irrational talk drives me nuts,” Behar told co-hosts Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.

The “Sister Act” star also squashed nonsense theories herself, explaining in a video taped in her bedroom, “I am not at Burning Man. I am not still in Italy. I’m not trying to change the outcome of the election. I just have COVID.”

She continued: “I’m still testing positive. I have to have a clear test before I can come back, so it might be a couple of days, but I’m really thrilled to see the beautiful new desk. I’m really thrilled to see all the beautiful women … I’m sending you all great love and can’t wait to get back to our favorite place, ‘The View.’”

The Post has contacted reps for Goldberg and “The View” for comment.

Goldberg’s diagnosis comes as the new COVID-19 variant, dubbed Pirola, spreads across the country.

“The View” executive producer Brian Teta told Behar on ABC’s  that the show’s team learned Goldberg would not be at Tuesday’s Season 27 premiere on Monday.

She was diagnosed with the virus in January and November 2022 as well.
