Puka Nacua could win Offensive Rookie of the Year after hot start

Puka Nacua has made an impressive surge in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds, earning the third-sဣhortest odds after being off the board completeꦡly to start the season.

No. 8 overall pick Bijan Robinson maintains his spot atop the list with No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson securely in the second position.♔

Richardson suffered a concussion that sidelined him for most of the Colts’ victory over the Texans and may keep him out of Week 3, but the rookie quarterback from Florida has performed so well that he continues to hold the second-best odds despite the setback.

Robinso🐼n’s performance has also been exceptional despit♍e stiff competition.

The Texas product has accumulated 255 all-purpose yards and scored one touchdown for the Falcons.&nbs𝄹p;

However, the true revelation has been Nacua.

In the absence of Cooper Kupp, Nacua has amassed 266 yards on 25 receptions, setting a record for the most catches by any rookie in the league’s history through the first two games.

Nacua also leads th꧋e NFL with 111 yards gained after catch.

Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and Texans quarterback CJ Stroud have seen a significant decline in t𒊎heir odds sin꧟ce the preseason.

This drop can be attributed, in part, to their injuries. Young missed practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, and Stroud i♋s dealing with a shoulder issue.

Nonetheless, it’s understandable why they still maintain a strong position on the board — quarterbacks typically dominate this award.

Betting on the NFL?

There are some important considerations for N༒FL Offensive Rookie of the Year bettors.

To start, massive favorites often don’t emerge as winners and though any position can win, quarterbacks t🍰end to have the advantage.

Draft position is indicative of a player’s chances with firไst-round picks often domina👍ting the award, but running back Mike Anderson — a sixth-round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft — was named OROY so it would be far from unprecedented for Nacua.
