‘The Crown’s’ Helena Bonham Carter chats with big fan Queen Camilla
From a princess to a queen!
Helena Bonham Carter — who portrayed Princess Margaret in Seasons 3 and 4 of “The Crown” — came face-to-face with Queen Camilla at the charity reception on Wednesday.
Bonha💟m Carter, 57, met the monarch, 75, at Clarence House to celebrate 30 years of t♛he poetry organization.
The foun💫dation encourages both awareness and the enjoyment of the art of poetry in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The “Ocean’s 8” actress was spotted giving a curtsy to Camilla as they met.
Season 5 of “The Crown” premiered last year and the final Season 6 is set to debut its first half on Nov. 16.
Camilla is reportedly a big fan of the royal drama, with🍌 a former staffer say🔯ing last fall that the monarch is “definitely” tuning into the show.
King Charles’ ex-communications secretary Kristina Kyriacou said, while appearing on the that “I think the Queen Consort will have definitely been watching it.
“I don’t think the King will have the time. I don’t think it’s a program which will tickle his interest,” she also said, adding that Camilla “keeps in touch with her family [and] her friends” who are watching it.
However, an insider told author Angela Levin for her 2022 book, , that the sovereign was dismayed at her portrayal on the show.
“When a certain timeline story is 👍revisited by the presꦬs, television or film, it causes the [Queen Consort] a lot o🐎f stress and she gets ver♎y upset,” the insider said.
They went on: “That is the truth but neither she nor [King] Charles will talk about it. The narrℱative is that she is the wicked woman, where [Princess] Diana is presented as the victim and Camilla as evil.”
The source claimed that Camilla was widely “vilified as a ‘marriage wrecker’” following 2020’s Season 4, which dove into the infamous love triangle of the late Princess Diana, Charles and Camilla.
Camilla was played by Emerald Fennell, who got a chance to meet her off-screen idol 🐼in March 2022 at a reception to celebrate International Women’s Day.
“I was nervous I might be thrown in the Tower — but so far, so good,” the 38-year-old at the eventꦍ. “[Camilla] has been in the spotlight for a long time and has always weathered i✨t with grace.”
Another cast member of “The Crown,” Dominic West, got the opportunity to meet the former Mrs. Parker Bowles, in 2021.
West, 53, plays a middle-aged Prince Charles in Seasons 5 and 6 of the series. Last November, he recalled in an interview with the cheek♓y greeting Camilla gave him when they met.
When they saw each other at a party, Camilla jokingly called him “Your Majesty.”
West has also crossed paths with King Charles several times, as “The Wire” alum is an ambassador of the Prince’s Trust.
“I’ve been in a line to shake his hand a few times and it’s fascinating. It’s very useful to meet the character you’re playing, obviously,” West said at the time.
