George Santos goes scorched earth on former colleagues, vows to file ethics complaints against 4 reps
Disgraced serial liar Rep. George Santos took a blowtorch to former colꦆleagues who voted to boot him from Congress, accusing four of serious violations and vowing to file ethics complaints against them.
Hours after his Friday expulsion, Santos wrote on X he’d be filing formal complaints Monday, beginning with Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island), who he suggested participated in “insider trading” — without Santos providing a shred of proof.
“Monday I will be filling [sic] an official complaint with the Office of congressional Ethics against @NMalliotakis regarding her questionable stock trading since joining the Ways and Means committee this Congress,” in his pre-midnight tirade.
“Before joining the committee the congresswoman didn’t have an active trading habit or a high volume stake. The question is, what set of information is she trading with?”
In another post, Santos christened his fellow Republican as “Nicole MalioStockTips. The signature bank trades she did REEKS of insider trading much like Paul Pelosi’s every trade!”
Malliotakis purchased as much as $15,000 in stock from Community Bancorp after a meeting with federal regulators earlier this year about the impending collapse of Signature Bank. The value of her shares exploded w🧸hen it was later announced the bank would acquire Signature,
Santos, who is openly gay, also made sexual insinuations about Malliotakis, who as a state lawmaker voted against gay marriage but later said she regretted her position.
“@NMalliotakis the difference between you and I is that I don’t live in denial, I’m a PROUD GAY man and I’m not afraid to say it,” Santos sniped.
“We don’t respond to expelled George Santos because he is a scorned and known serial liar,” said Malliotakis spokeswoman Natalie Baldassarre, adding her✃ boss denied all his claims.
Next Santos targ🍨eted upstate ꦰRep. Mike Lawler (R-NY).
“On Monday I will be filling an Ethics complaint against @RepMikeLawler for questionable campaign finance violations,” . “Congressman Lawler owns portion of Checkmate Strategies and he uses the same firm that he is a beneficiary of to pay for services related to his campaign. The concerning questions are; [sic] is Mr Lawler engaging in laundering money form [sic] his campaign to his firm then into his own pocket?”
Lawler’s congressional campaign did pay his own consulting firm, in October 2022. Team Lawler said at the time that he went “above and beyond, instructing the firm’s accountants to firewall him from any profits resulting from his campaign.”
“Being attacked by a serial liar and con man like George Santos is a badge of honor,” said Lawler spokesman Nate Soule.
Sa⛦ntos also we♏nt after his one-time Long Island colleague, Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY), who once headed the Suffolk County Board of Elections.
“LaLota obtained his JD attending Hofstra in day school while he was supposed to be working at the Board of elections at the same time,” Santos claimed. “The questionable actions are? Did Rep Lalota no-show to his tax pay [sic] funded job while going to school and if so he can potential [sic] have stolen public funds form the tax payers of NY.”
LaLota did serve as a GOP elections commissioner while simultaneously attending Hofstra, prompting Suffolk’s legislative presiding officer, Democrat DuWayne Gregory, to demand his time sheets,
“It is difficult for me to understand how Mr. LaLota can attend law school classes during the day in Hempstead and simultaneously attend to his duties at the Board of Elections in Yaphank,” Gregory said at the time.
A rep for LaLota said Santos was “just mad the congressman has three actual degrees while he lied about having one.”
Santos promised a fourth ethics complaint against Rep. Rob Menendez (D-NJ), the freshman New Jersey congressman and son of Sen. Bob Menendez — who is facing a string of federal corruption indictments.
“There remains a question of what did he know and when did he know it, the complaint is to seek clarification from the freshman congressman on his involvement with his fathers overseas dealing over the years and any potential compensation he received,” Santos wrote.
