NBA bettors suffer awful bad beat as Mikal Bridges, Nets clank free throws vs. Pistons

We had the Nets to cover against the pitiful Pistons on Tuesday, and we’re still licking our wounds on that beat.

Leading by five points with 25.2 seconds remaining, Mikail Bridges went 0-for-2 from the free throw line, followed by a 1-for-2 showing from Cam Johnson shortly after and another 0🌄-for-2 fr🍨om Bridges before time expired.

The 1-for-6 outcome at the free throw line in the game’s final minute ruined what should have been an easy cover (-6.5) for the Brooklyn Nets, who won, 18-112.

The Nets’ free-throw struggles — with Bridges the main culprit — resulted in 63 percent of bets burning, a BetMGM Sportsbook spokesperson told The Post.

The individual added that the Pistons were a trendy bet to end their 26-game ൲losing streak, as Detroit +200 garnered 62 percent of bets and 66 percent of all money.

Meanwhile, some sharp bettors must’ve come in with some more significant underdog spread bets, as 57 percent of the money was the Pistons +6.5 despite just 37 percent of bets looking for a home team cover.

The missed free throws favored the few who were on the ꧟Pistons +6.5, but the losses keep piling up.

Detroit is in the midst of the worst single-season losing streak in NBA history, losing 27 consecutive games, and can tie🦄 the NBA record Thursday.

Coach Monty Williams, who will be paid $78.5 million over six years to coach the Pistons’ young group of players, was under fire by multiple pundits who didn’t appreciate his late-game set plays.

“The funniest part of the Pistons game was when Cade (Cunningham) was unconscious and scoring on every possession, then down 5 with 38.5 secs left, the Pistons came out of a timeout and ran a play to get Alec Burks a contested three,” Ringer founder Bill Simmons said in a .

“80 million for Monty Williams might have been a whiff high.”

Betting on the NBA?

Detroit may be one of the biggest underdogs in NBA history on Thursday when it faces the league’s second-best team in net rating in the Boston Celtics.

No line has been released yet for that game but expect a huge nuꩲmber to be presented by oddsmakers on this one.
