How Justin Hartley was awkwardly mistaken for Glen Powell at the 2024 Golden Globes

Well, that was awkward.

The Hollywood Reporter mistook “Top Gun: Maverick” star Glen Powell for Justin Hartley on the red carpet at Sunday’s 2024 Golden Globe Awards.

“Glen Powell has arrived for tonight’s 2024 #GoldenGlobes ceremony,” the ❀Hollywood Reportꦫer posted on its X (formerly Twitter) account.

The caption was for a photo of Hartley wearing in a tan tuxedo and a 🍸black bow tie.

Hartley, a former “This Is Us” star, is launching his new drama series, “Tracker,” on CBS Feb. 11 after the Super Bowl.

Powell quickly jumped on the gaffe.

“I think this is the perfect time to announce that ⁦@justinhartley⁩ and I will be starring in the most boring body-swap movie of all time,” he playfully retorted on

THR’s post seems to have vanished shortly thereafter, though about Harley’s arrival with his wife, Sofia Pernas.

Powell, for his part, just ended his promotional tour with Sydney Sweeney for their film “Anyone But You.” The co-stars often appeared flirty in social media posts, but denied they were dating off camera.

“Sometimes I feel beat up by it. It’s hard to sit back and watch, and not be able to stand up for yourself,” Sweeney told Vari🌺ety about the rumors.

“Glen and I don’t really care,” she continued. “We have so ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚmuch fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”

She said of the alleged affair headlines: “We talk all the time, like, ‘That’s really funny.’”

Powell also spoke out about the claims in an✅ interview w♐ith

“When all that stuff happened, you know, publicly, it felt disorienting and unfair. But what I’m realizing is that’s just a part of this gig now,” he said in November 2023.
