New details emerge after four teenage Vietnamese exchange students go missing in Australia
Four Vietnamese teenagers have gone missing over the course of a month while on an exchange pr🍃ogram in Sou꧅th Australia.
Authorities are scrambling for infor🍌mation about the missing teens after 17-year-old year 11 student Sunnie Nguyen was the latest to mysteriously disappear.
Sunnie, who has been described as “shy” and struggles with English, ꦏwent missing after having dinner with her host family on Monday night.
Her host m💧other, May Zervaas, discovered ꦜshe had disappeared at around 11pm.
Sunnie left with a backpa♏ck containing her laptop, imporꦍtant ID documents and clothes.
Her phone 🌸is switched off, and her social media accounts have been deleted.
There are no signs of forced entry, and most of her belongi🐼ngs remain in her room.
“I have been sitting next to my phone all night anxiousl𓃲y waiting for a♚ call,” Ms. Zervaas’ daughter Mary said via the.
“We are very worried. Her English isn’t very fluent and she usually relies on someone to translate. She is go😼ing to struggle alone.
“She had five bags here at home, but she only✃ left ꦏwith one. Her two pairs of shoes are gone, but her wardrobe and dresser still have her clothes in them.
“She has her important stuff like her laptop and passport, which we think she takes with her usually to use as a form of valid ID, and some clothes. But she left everything else here, including all of her medication – which is quite important.”
The Zervaas family reported Sunnie missing to the police at🎐 11:30 pm on Monday.
Authorities are investigating the disappearances, considering the possibility that some of the missing youths may have 🍬traveled interstate.
However, authorities reportedly don’t believe t🌊here is a link between t🥃he disappearances.
“All lines of inquiries in the investigations indicate that some of these youths may have tr🃏aveled interstate and still remain there,” South Australia police said in a statement.
“There is nothing currently identified in any investigation that would in🎉dicate these youths are in immediate danger.
“South Ausꦦtralia Police are working with interstate policing co🤡unterparts to help locate these youths.”
Sunnie’s host family hopes she will see the news and reach out to let them know she is ok𓆏ay.
A ♎Vietnamese community leader in Adelaide suggests that the missing students may have gone traveling during school holidays.
Sunnie is known to frequent Adelaide, Aus🐻tralia’s downtown.
“I hope that this is a case of, because of school holidays, kids, 17 years old, want to get together to go sꦡomewhere and not (tell) anyone,” Lien Nguyen-Navas from the Vieไtnamese Womens Association said.
“I hope that was the case.”
