Bride arrested for extortion on her wedding day, hauled off from nuptials
A bride in Mexico was arrested for alleged extortion on her wedding day — and hauled off to prison in her white gown before she could eve♎n cut her ca🌟ke.
The suspect, identified by Mexican media only as Nancy N., was seen in ima♍ges released Friday in a long white dress decked out in lace — as wel💎l as a pair of handcuffs.
She was arrested and taken to the Public Prosecutor’s Office as she and her husband, Clemente N., arrived at the church for their ceremony in late December.
Her would-be-husband, whose nickname is “Ratón,” or “Mouse,” is wanted on the same charges, however, he managed to escape.
The couple has been accused of extorting c🅠hicken merchants on Dec. 22 in Toluca near Mexico City.
They have also been suspected of kidnapping four wo❀rkers from a poultry shop.ꦰ
According to authorities, six other pe🅷ople 🉐have also been arrested for their involvement in the scam.
One member of the group, Santiago N., was accused of “transporting the victims in a Ford Explorer pickup truck,” the state Prosecutor’s Office said.
The entire group allegedly has links to the crimi🍸nal organization La Familia Michoacana.
“The fight against extortion of poultry and egg businesses has caused losses of over £37.2 million (MXN 800 million or about $47 million) for criminal groups,” authorities said.
“By failing to receive £16.8 million (MXN 360 milliꦚon) for foiled o🐎perations and the confiscation of 24 properties valued at £20.5 million (MXN 440 million).”
The police investigation is ongoing.
