A woman with a severe dairy allergy died days after eating a tiramisu that was advertised as “vegan,” prompting an investigation into the dessert’s maker.

Bꦿellisario, who was a fashion student, reportedly checked the label on the tiramisu and asked for “more information” about the desert before consuming it.

After eati꧃ng just a few spoonfuls, she started coughing and had trouble breathing. She attempted to make herself vomit and took asthma medication and cortisone 🅰she had with her, but she eventually lost consciousness after suffering from anaphylactic shock.

She was in a coma for 10 days at Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital before she died on Feb 5, 2023. She suffered from a dairy allergy since birth and had visited the restaurant before,

A mother and a daughter who run the pastry compan🧜y that supplied the pre-made tiramisu to Flower Burger and 63 other restaurants are now being investigated for manslaughter, according to Corriere della Sera.

Flower Burger provided The Post with the following statement: “The news of Anna Bellisario’s death last year deeply saddened and shocked us, especially considering she was a cherished customer of ours.”

Flower Burger said that the tiramisu was packaged and produced by a third-party company called Glg Srl. They plan to take legal action against the company in the coming weeks “for the personal and reputational damages inflicted on our company.”

“On January 15, 2024, the judiciary concluded its investigation and revealed that despite the absence of traces of casein on the product label, the inquiries disclosed not only the presence of dairy traces but also identified casein itself as an ingredient. In fact, mascarpone was found, which proved fatal for the young girl,” they said in their statement. “The investigations also confirmed our complete innocence in what happened.”

It’s tho🍸ught that Tiramisun might have “mixed ไup” production lines for their vegan pastries with their desserts containing milk,
