2024 Australian Open Finals: How to play if DraftKings, FanDuel aren’t in your state

Some newcomers have reached the tennis world’s biggest stage, with Qinwen Zheng playing in her first final on the women’s side of the 2024 Australian Open.

She’ll take on Aryna Sabalenka, who’s looking to defend her 2023 title in Melbourne.

In the men’s singles draw, Jannik Sinner is in search of his first Grand Slam title against Daniil Medvedev, who is 0-2 in his two fi𒅌nals ap🙈pearances in Melbourne.

If you’re looking to get in on the real-money gaming action but aren’t in a state with any legal sports betting sites, you can try PrizePicks or Underdog Fantasy.

They’re DFS platforms in which you pick player statistics and tie them together in an “entry.” They’re also two of the only DFS platforms that offer tennis and the Australian Open. Both sites are offering 100% deposit matches up to $100, so whatever you put in, they’ll match in bonus funds.

Here’s how it works.

1. PrizePicks

  • Promo Code: NYPOST
  • Offer: 100% deposit match up to $100
  • States Available: 19+ years old in AK, AR, CA, CO, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MN, NE, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TX, UT, VT, VA, WI (21+ in AZ and MA).

PrizePicks is a DFS platform in which you pick player statistics and tie them together for bigger payouts. Depending on the sport, you can win up to 100x on an entry, but for tennis, it’s 25x with five successful picks.

Here’s an example — say I like the Sabalenka match to end quickly, in less than 20 games. I can make that my first entry, counting on a Sabalenka win in straight sets (or a Zheng win in straight sets, though given her price as a big underdog, that’s less likely).

For my second leg, I’ll take Sinner-Medvedev to go more than 39 games, counting on a more competitive match that goes at least four sets (though it could get to 39 if three sets all go to a tiebreak).

Both these picks need to hit for me to win my entry, which returns $60 off a $20 entry. That includes my $20 entry, so it’s really a 2x payout, not a 3x payout.

You can add more players or stats to your entry to increase the payout. If I add Sinner more than 4.5 break points ♋for exam🌌ple, my payout will be 5x.

2. Underdog Fantasy

  • Promo Code: NYPBONUS
  • Offer: 100% deposit match up to $100
  • States Available: AL, AK, AR, CA, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, NY, ME, MN, MS, NE, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, SD, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WY

Underdog works similarly, but you can’t select multiple statistics from the same player. And they have several different game modes — what you’re looking for is

So, I’ll take Sabalenka less than 18.5 games won (meaning she wins in straight sets without going to a tiebreak, or loses the match) and Mark Andrews less than five targets in Ravens-Chiefs as he returns from injury. They didn’t have the Sinner-Medvedev match posted as of Friday morning.

If both these picks win, I’ll 3x my entry (including my entry, so it’s really a 2x payout).

You can also choose the insured option, which pays you out if you go 2/3 on a 3-plus leg entry, but you’ll get a smaller payout if you do go 3/3.
