The former Knicks shooting guard expressed excitement over the new lease on life he has with the Pistons, who sent Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic to the🅰 Knicks as part of the dealꦿ, which also sent Quentin Grimes to Detr🦹oit.

“I’m r൩eally excited to be out of New York, so looking forward to new opportunities,” Fournier told reporters in Detroit on Monday.

It’s ♌not 🦄hard to imagine why the change of scenery is welcomed by the 31-year-old.

Fournier had lost his starting role last season and was relꦯegated to ཧthe bench, appearing in just three games this season before the trade.

He’s been on the trading block since la♛st summer and has been vocal about his desire for some sort of consistent opportunity in the Knicks rotation or being dealt elsewhere.

During his three seasons in New York, Fournier app🅘eared🌜 in 110 games and averaged 11.8 points.

Fournier heads to a Pistons team that has plenty of room🎉 for improvement, with just eight✨ wins on the season, and plenty of opportunities.

He has participated in two practices with his new team and ജhas yet to play in a game with them, but Fournier describe﷽d the Pistons as a team with “a lot of enthusiasm” and a “hard-playing team.”

“They haven’t said anything,” Fournie💃r said when asked about the opportunities available for him with the Pistons. “As soon as I got traded, [Pistons general manager Troy Weaver] called me and said I was wanted here. That they tried to have me for the last couple of seasons now. I don’t know what’s going to happen. We’ll see.”

The Pistons are bꩵack in action on Tuesday when they face the Lakers in Los Angeles.
