Mets’ Brett Baty belts first homer of the spring

Noteworthy items during the Mets’ Grapefruit League action Friday:

Going Baty

Brett Baty, who is battling Mark Vientos for the Mets’ third-base job, drilled a Roddery Muñoz slider 383 fe🗹et to right for his first home run of the spring in his fi🎐fth game.

“Felt✤ really good,” Baty said. “Whenever you get one on the barrel like that, honestly it’s hard to explain, but it just feels li꧙ke nothing.”

Brett Baty, batting during a game against the Nationals last week, belted a home run in the Mets' 4-1 loss to the Marlins.
