Seton Hall cruises past North Texas to reach NIT quarterfinals

This one came a lot easier for Seton Hall. 

After needing overtime to dispatch St. Joseph’s to open th🐠e NIT, the Pirates cruised past North Texas, 72-58, in the second round fro🧜m Walsh Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. 

They now await Sunday’s Boston College vs. UNLV winner in thꦏe quarterfinals.

Dre Davis led Seton Hall (22-12) with 18 po𝐆ints, and Kadary Richmond had a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds to go along wi🌊th six assists. 

Al-Amir Dawes chipped in 14 poin❀ts, five rebounds and five 💙assists. 

The Pirates shot a blistering 48.3 percent from the field and made 9-of-20 3-pointers while holding North Texas to j♓ust 34.9 percent shooting overall.

𒉰Seton Hall actually🐬 trailed 24-23 with 3:08 left to play in the first half but ripped off a 10-0 run heading into the break.

Isaiah Colem𒈔an capped the stretch with a trey with just a second to go to put the B♏ig East school up 33-24. 

Seton Hall never trailed again and led by as many as 24 on a Dawes 🍎layup with 4:46 to play in the game.

North Texas (19-15) of the American Athletic Conference was led by 23 points from Jason E꧋dwards.

CJ Noland chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds ༒off the bench.
