Monty Williams seems angry over how Donte DiVincenzo broke Knicks’ 3-point record

į€£Monty Williams will not remember his last few trips to Madison ā™‘Square Garden fondly.

In his latest visit, the Pistons coach wasnā€™t thrilled with being on the opposite side of a Knicks franchise record on Monday night when Donte DiVincenzo knocked down 11 3-pointers in a 124-99 Knicks win.

When Williams was asked about it after the game, he was blunt wšŸ„€ith his response.

ā€œI don’t care about their team at all,ā€ Williams said. ā€œI couldn’t care less. Those guys, the way they got those threes. I don’t want to be a part of that story.ā€

When Josh Hart was asked about the comments Williams had after the game, šŸˆthe Knicks star had a simple sšŸ’›olution for him.

ā€œIf he didnā€™t wannā™›a be part of the story, he shouldā€™ve told his guys to defend better,ā€ Hart told reporters. ā€œI donā€™t know what else to say.  We got a guy thatā€™s hot, weā€™re gonna try to find the guy thatā€™s hot. Thatā€™s common sense basketball.ā€

DiVincenzo’s massive night also included putting up a career-high 40 points and is just eight 3-pointers behind Evan Fournier for the Knicks’ single-season record with 11 games still to go in the regular season.

The Knicks shooting guard had 20 3-point attempts in thą¹Še win.

Williams’ last trip to the Garden resulted in a memorable ending in which a ną¹„umber of questionable no-calls led to a chaotic sequence that resulted in an and-1 for Hartā€ to win the game with seconds left on the clock.

Williams went off on the officiašŸ”“ls after the game during a brief press conferencšŸŒ³e in MSG.

ā€œThe absolutely worst call of thšŸŒŸe season,ā€ he said at the time. ā€œNo call and enough is enough. Weā€™ve done it the right way. Weā€™ve called the league. Weā€™ve sent in clips. Weā€™re sick of hearing the same stuff over and over again.ā€
