Shooting near Rutgers University sends two to the hospital

An early morning shooting just blocks from student housing at Rutgers University left two pꦺeople affiliated with the New Jersey school injured on Friday.

The shooting occurred ju𒈔st after 2 a.m. at the intersection of Easton Avenue and Hamilton Street in New Brunswick following an apparent altercation,

Police found a male victiꦫm “affiliated with Rutgers University” with gunshot wounds and took him to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital,

Eyewitnesses claim the unidentified victim got into a verbal altercation with a suspect when the suspect approached the victim in 🏅his car.

The victim allegedly provoked the suspect to shoot, at which point the unidenti💙fied gunman fired multiple times and fled, according to RLS Media.

A woman who li𓄧ved nearby, who police say is also “affiliated” with the university, was struck by a stray bullet.

Both victims are being treated for their wounds at the university hospital, 🍨police said.

It is unclear what their conditions are or w💞hether they were students or faculty at the s💧chool.

The Post has reached out to the New Brunswick Police Department for more information, as officers search for theℱ suspect.

They said the “description of the perpetrator(s) is limited at this ไtime” and are asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.
