Heartbroken dog reunited with her puppies after fiend abandons mom, sells babies in Walmart parking lot: report
An abandoned dog named Mya was recently reunited with several of her pu☂ppies after a heartless fiend sold them off in the parking lot of a Connectic🍰ut Walmart, police said.
The poor pup was found Tuesday night running around near the juncture of Spindle Hil🤡l Road and Mad River Road in Wolcott, Connecticut, by the local dog pound.
The nursing mom was distraug🌄ht over her heartbreaking loss — which took a signꦜificant toll on her,
“It messes with her psyche,” Wolcott animal control officer Roslyn Nenninger told the network. “We’re going to deal with some physical issues as well as some mental issues with the dog.”
Local cops say whoever let the forlorn pooc🍃h loose sold her puppies in the parking lot of a Walmart several miles away in Waterbury.
Wolcott Police Chief Edward Stephens told the network he was appalled by the situation — a𝄹nd said the person will likely face charges for animal cruelty and abandonment.
“It’s terr𓆉ible, something terrible, it should never happen,” he said.
But there is some good news — authorities eventually recovered four of the seven puppies, which seems to have allayed Mya’s intense anxiety.
“She’s cleaning them loving them, doing her mother thing, no more whin🔯ing, no more crying no more howling,” Nenninger said.
Two of the puppies w🍒ere returned by a man who bought them. The same man helpe🥀d find one more, then told the cops about it, the network said.
“He 🅠said it’s one of the hardest things to do, but it was the right thing to do,” the police chief said, adding that the man loved the dogs and had no ill intentions.
Stephens added that the other dogs might be 𝓀in Massachusetts.
“We’re still investigating th𒁃at,” he told the network.
An animal advocacy group called Desmond’s Army has offered mo෴re than $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and ꦏprosecution of the person responsible, the network said.
The Wolcott dog pound said they won’t ask any questions of those who safely return the puppies to their mom,
