Bill Barr responds to Trump insults by doubling down on voting for him over ‘unfit’ Biden

Ex-Attorney General Bill Barr responded to harsh criticism from his former boss Donald Trump by doubling down on backing him over “unfit” President Biden on Friday — despite being an outspoken critic of the presumed 2024 Republican nominee since leaving his administration.

“I think that Biden is u💯nfit for office,” Barr told CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins.

“I think Trump would do less damage than Biden, and I think all this stuff about a threat to democracy — I think the real threat to democracy is the progressive movement and the Biden administration,” he added.

Barr has become a vocal Trump antagonist since resigning in 2020. Less than a year ago, he warned of “chaos” and a “horror show” in the coꦗuntry if the billionaire ever returned to the White House.

He has said many of Trump’s legal troubles were “entirely of his own making” and that his verbal skills were “very limited.”

Trump has returned the favor — blasting his former functionary on Truth Social after he learned of Barr’s plan to vote for him.

“Wow! Former A.G. Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him ‘Weak, Slow Mo෴ving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy’ (New York Post!),” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word ‘Lethargic’ from my statement. Thank you Bill,” Trump wꦛrote.

Collins read the message to♌ Barr almost verbatim on live television.

“Classic Trump,” Barr responded with a laugh. “I am very disappointed that this country is stuck with this choice … I don’t think either of them should be president of the United States, but given that binary choice, I feel like I have to choose Trump.”

When Collins pressed how Barr could vote for a man who publicly mocked him, the former attorney general said it’s “not about me.” but rather who he felt would do “the least damage to the country.”
