Trump demands drug test for Biden before first presidential debateĀ
Donald Trump demanded on Friday that Joe Biden be drug tested ahead of the two presidential debates both candidatesā have agreed to participate in.
The former president cited the incumbentās State of the Union address in March in his call for druāg testing, alleging that Biden was āhigh as a kiteā when he delivered the speech.
āI just want to debate this guy, but you know ā and Išāmš gonna demand a drug test too, by the way,ā Trump told Republicans during a speech at a GOP dinner in St. Paul, Minn.
āI am. No, I really am. I donāt want him coming in like the State of the Union. He was high as a kite,ā the presumptive GOP nominee for president ā±added.&ź¦¬nbsp;
āWe’re going to demand a drug test,ā Trump reiterated, without saying whether he would take one himself.
The Biden campaign did noāt immediately respond to The Postās request šfor comment.
Biden, 81, spoke loudly and at a fairly rapid clip during his lengthy š°address.
Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.), co-chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus, alleged after the speech, during an appearance onĀ FOX Business Network’s āMornings with Maria,ā that Biden āmust have been jacked up on something that day.āĀ
Trump, 77, has previously called for Biden to be drug testedź§.&nšÆbsp;
In 2020, he argued that Bidenās debate performances during the Democratic primaries had been āuneven,ā and said he would be āstrongly demandingā a drugź©µ test bš°efore their debates ahead of the 2020 general election.
Neither candidate ended up taking a drug test before theišør two 2020 debates.
