More than 2,000 NYC doctors-in-training to get 16.2% pay hike

More than 2,300 doctors-in-training w𒁃ho work for NYC’s hospital system will be getting a 16.2% pay hike,

The raise package for interns and residents working for NYC Health + Hospitals runs retroactivel𓃲y from mid-December 2021 through mid-June 2027. It also inc🃏reases residents’ starting salaries from $66,247 to $81,238 starting December 2025 and provides them addition lump sum bonuses of up to $6,000.

The workers – all members of the Committee of Interns a🅰nd Residents-Service Employees International Union –

“Our hospital workers were on the frontl▨ines of the COVID-19 pandemic, risking their lives to save ours,” Adams said in a statement. “The least they deserve is a fair wage f𓄧or their work.”
