Former President Donald Trump that he has quietly made a determination about who will be his vice president, but hasn’t let them know.
“In my mind, yeah,” Trump told reporters at a cheesesteak restaurant in Philadelphia when asked about the decision.
“No, nobody knows,” he added when asked if he had informed the person.
Without divulging any names, Trump, 78, further teased that his future running mate will be present at♈ his upcoming debate in Atlanta on Thursday against President Biden.
Special guests at a watch party for the debate will include former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, Gov. Doug Burgum (R-N.D.), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Sen𓃲. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Rep. Byron Donald🌱s (R-Fla.), Rep. Wesley Hunter (R-Texas), according to a copy of the invitation reviewed by The Post.
The party will be hosted by ex-Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) and her husband, billionaire Jeff Sprecher with♔ a boost from Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley and co-chair Lara Trump.
Other supporters, such as Sen. Tim Sc🎃ott (R-S.C.), are also expected to attend, per a source familiar.
Trump’s campaign has ramped up its vetting of potential running mates in recent weeks.
Thus far, the top two finalists in the contest are believed to be Burgum and Vance, with💃 Rubio still in the running, , citing conversations with over a dozen officials.
The 45th president has previously teased that an ann𓄧ouncement will come during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisc. from July 15–18.
But there’s always the possibility that an announcement could come sooner.
The presumptive GOP standard b💯earer is set to face sentencing in his 34-count hush money conviction on July 11, days before the convention.
In advance of the debate, the former president has held policy sessions with close advisers in prepar꧙ation for✃ the verbal sparring match.
Meanwhile, Biden has hunkered down at Camp David with an assortment of allies in debate prep.
