Trump reveals what he thinks Biden’s next move should be after debate debacle
Former President Donald Trump ♋saiไd President Biden should ignore mounting calls for him to drop out of the race for the White House following his dismal debate performance.
Trump, 78, took to his Truth Social website on Saturday and sarcastically advised that Biden, 81, should plow forward with his campaign and dismiss the growing number of Democrats who wish toꦯ see another candidate take his place.
Biden “should ignore his many critics and move forwa💧rd, with alacrity and strength, with his powerful and far reaching campaign,” he wrote.
“He should be sharp, precise, and energetic, just like he was in The Debate, in selling his policies …” Trump continued, before rambling off a list of Biden policies, such as “open borders,” “uncontrollable inflation” and “subservience to China.”
“Yes, Sleepy Joe should continue his campaign of American Destruction and, MAKE CHINA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump .
Biden’s abysmal showing at the first presidential debate with Trump on June 27 sounded the alarms among voters — anꦕd an increasing number of Democratic officials — who worry that Biden lacks the mental or physical ꦜabilities to win the election and lead for another four years.
What to know about the calls for President Biden to drop out of the 2024 race:
- President Biden’s poor performance in the first 2024 presidential debate left some Democrats unsure of his fitness for office and future as the party’s candidate.
- More than a dozen congressional Democrats have joined in calling for Biden’s exit from the race. Former Biden supporter George Clooney echoed these calls in an op-ed published in the New York Times just weeks after he helped lead a record-breaking fundraiser for the Democrat.
- Democratic voters have continued to raise concerns about Biden’s nomination since the debate, with speculations and suggestions for replacement nominees running rampant.
- Biden’s former running mate Barack Obama has report💜edly been trying to pressure him to drop out, and had prior knowledge of Clooney’s op-ed. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi allegedly told Biden he could not beat former Presiꦺdent Donald Trump this time around. 🅰
- As the Democratic National Convention approaches, California delegates for the Democratic Party are reportedly in disarray as debate over the president’s chances of re-election threatens to tear the party apart.
- However, the Biden campaign has denied any plans for Biden to bow out and for Kamala Harris to step in as the Democratic nominee. Sources close to the president believe he might not be willing to drop out, while other sources claim he is “receptive” to giving up on a second term.
On Saturday, Minnesota Rep. Angie Craig became the fifth sitting House Democrat to urge Biden to call to step aside in fa𝕴vor of a younger candidate.
The editorial boards of major newspapers like the New York Times, Atlanta Journal-Constitution and have also said Biden should give up 💧the reins.
His stumbling interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopolous on Friday, his first since the debate, did not help change minds.
