Apartment building urges tenants to cut the crap and stop flinging poop at electrical workers

Residents of a high-rise apartment building in Toronto have been tossing human poop from their balconies at electrical crews down below — with the feces-flinging becoming such a problem that building management had to hire security to protect the workers.

The management company, Wellesley-Parliame𝔍nt Square (WPSQ), 💧was forced to write a letter warning residents to cut the crap.

“Dear residents, it has come to our attention that a small group of residents are repeatedly interfering, threatening, and/or harassing members of the electrical contracting team,” the company wrote in a letter to tenants at the 77 Howard St. apartments in the city’s North St. James Town neighborhood.

“Reports of unacceptable behavior including throwing human waste from upper-level balconies at workers below, aggressive language, and/or hostile interactions,” the letter continues, acknowledging that the problem is being created by “a small group” of residents.

The crews have been performing their duties “around the clock” to restore power to the building after last week’s historic rain storm in Toronto last week knocked power out for nearly 200,000 homes and businesses.

“It makes no sense why anyone would want to interfere with this work, cause additional delays or contribute to an already challenging situation,” the letter posted in a thread on the — which includes a photo of the letter — reads in part.

“They have been diligent, hardworking and dedicated to restoring electrical power safely and quickly to your units,” WPSQ wrote.

The problem has gotten so bad the building has brought on additional security staff to protect the workers, also informing Toronto Police Servic🍌es about the situation.

The management company warned that resi💫dents who continued🃏 assailing the workers with their waste would be subject to eviction.

Reddit users in the thread took a fairly dim view of St. James Town, describing it as a “low-income area with lots of mental health issues out on the streets.”

Another poster wrote, “I heard my first gunshots visiting a friend there.”

A more positive user who said they live in the building where the poop-throwing is taking place said it’s “extremely disappointing” to see his neighbors acting in that manner.

“I’m sorry to any of the crews that have been working diligently to get our systems back online,” the poster wrote.

“People hate on this neighborhood all the time, but I’ve lived here for 10 years and I love it. To each their own I guess.”

According to Apartment Ho💞me Living, 77 Howard Street is 22 stories tall with 381 total units. It was built in 1966.
