Dad breaks down as his 22-year-old daughter taken off life support following domestic violence incident
Heartbreaking video shows the father of a domestic violence victim who died in a fight with her boyfriend sobbing over his daughter’s body as it was wheeled off so her organs could be donated to save others.
Robert Moreno was seen crying and crouching over his 22-year-old daug𒈔hter, Zahriya Moreno, on Wednesday after she was taken off life support at the Banner University Healthcare hosp♏ital in Tucson, Arizona,
The grieving father and his family then waved goodbye one last time as Zahriya was taken away — just three years after her twin brother died in a motorcycle crash.
“Being as we lost our twins, it’s going to be a lot of darkness in the future and we’re going to push through that as difficult as it is because that’s what our daughter would have wanted for us,” Moreno told KOLD.
“It’s wonderful to know that parts of my baby will live on,” he said of her organs being donated.
“But there’s no words, no anything that will ever be able to make this better,” he added.
The Pima County🍃 Sheriff’s Department said Zahriya suffered critical injuries on Monday following an argument with her boyfriend, Angelito Adrian Olivas, 25.
The interim complaint states that after their fight, Zhariya jumped on the trunk of Olivas’ vehicle as he tried to drive away.
He continuedꦐ to drive off anyway, and at some point Zhariya fell off, police said.
Olivas was arrested on charges of felony domestic violence, aggravated assault and felony endangerment, and he w𒁃as released later🔴 in the day after posting a $2,500 bond.
“It almost seemed like a joke,” Robert said of the low bond. “I’m disappointed in the judge. The legal system.”
Robert described his daughter as a strong and determined young woman who loved her time at the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program.
Despite the heartache, Robert said he f🔥ound some comfort in seeing the outpo♛ur of love from the community during an Honor Walk for his daughter, where more than 100 people came out to the hospital to support the family.
“I thought it was just going to be family and friends. The outpouring of support,🤪 I wouldn’t have fathomed in a million years,” he told the local outlet.
