FEMA spent all its money on migrants: Letters to the Editor — Oct. 7, 2024

The Issue: FEMA’s failure to allocate money to victims of Hurricane Helene owing to the migrant crisis.

Yet another reason not to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election (“Sorry, Wrong Victims,” Editorial, Oct. 4).

As second-in-command, she is directly responsible for the border disaster and the money subsequently spent on migrants, while victims of Hurricane Helene s✃uffer and the rest of the country reels from other issues, like inflation.

FEMA doesn’t have money♉ for rel🦹ief — except for migrants.

Why should my 100-year-old grandmother, a US citizen🥃, have no electricity or hot water due to Hurri🍬cane Helene?

The local electr꧙ic company is even trying to restore power without federal assistance. It seems that American citizens are no longer a priority.

I criticized President George W. Bush in 2005 for his inept response to Hurricane Katrina. I must do the same now to Harris for her equally inept and insufficient ♏response to Hurricane Helene.

Merely showing up to FEMA’s headquarters in Washington, DC — after attending a lavish celebrity fund-raiser🌠 in Los Angeles as the tragedy unfolded — is not e🍬nough. For shame.

Right before Hurricane He💝lenဣe struck, some of Georgia’s Republican representatives in the House voted against funding FEMA in preparation.

So Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp should understand that because of this, FEMA funds are spread thin and must bﷺ🐼e shared.

I agree that Harris should divert more money to Hurricane Helene. But it’s 𓃲interesting that The Post chooses to target the millions allocated for migrants and not the billions in military aid we have given to Israel.

With the money we’ve given to Israel, we could’ve helped♛ not just those affected by Helene, but even those who were affected by the last major disaster in Hawaii as well.

It seems like a deflection to focus on millions in aid to miꦰgrants who might otherwise die on the street, versus the billions we give🐻 to fuel war crimes in Gaza.

The Issue: Accusations that Doug Emhoff assaulted his former girlfriend in 2012.

This accusation shows Kamala Harris’ poor judgment (“Left is all #MeToo unless it’s #Democrat,” Kirsten Fleming, Oct. 3).

Her marriage to Doug Emhoff shows her failure in vetting for a spouse. ౠHis impregnation of a nanny and a new allegation of violence against a girlfriend tell us all we need to know about him.

And the revelations of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s absurd record as governo💜༺r, alongside his performance in the vice presidential debate, also show Harris’ failure to vet VP candidates.

Harris should be judged by the compa🐼ny she has chosen and promptly rejected by voters. Our 🦩country can’t further withstand her poor judgment.

The Democratic Party and its stalwarts of consummate gentle๊men when it comes to women, like former President Bill Clinton, tried to bestow sainthood on Emhoff. But there’s a way out. As Clinton once stated: It all depends on the meaning of the word — in this case, ‘slap’ — is.

Jen Psaki recently gushed that Emhoff had “redefined masculinity.” He’s an alleged woman-beater and impregnated his child’s nanny. He redefined 🌄masculinity?
