Two NYCHA workers busted in NYC beatdown of former Gov. David Paterson, stepson: cops
Two adult public housing workers were nabbed Monday in the Upꦦper East Side beatdown on former Gov. David Paterson and his stepson – the final suspects busted after two boys, 12 and 13, surrendered over the weekend, cops said.&nb🌠sp;
Travor Nurse, 40, who is accused of slugging Paterson, and Diamond Minter𒐪, 34 – both of whom work for the N꧑ew York City Housing Authority – were apprehended in the Friday night attack on the pair on Second Avenue near East 96th Street, cops and sources said.
Both suspects were charged with second-degree gang assault, and Travor faces an additional rap for assault i🍌njuring a victim 65 or older, both felonies, cops said.
Two boys – a 12-year-old who faces a second-degree gang assault rap and a 13-year-old charged with third-degree gang assault – turned themselves in on Saturday, cops said.
A ꦗthird boy, 14, was not ch✱arged after cops determined he was not an aggressor.
“Governor Paterson and his family are glad to see the suspects turned themselves in,” a rep for the ex-gov said in a statement said after those arrests. “We hope that the young people involved learn something from this unfortunat♔e encouꦬnter.
The attack unfolded when Paterson, 70, and his wife’s 20-year-old son, Anthony Chester Sliwa, spotted the crew climbing a fire escape shortly before 9 ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚp.m., sources said at the time.
The pair confronted the ruffia༒ns, who then attacked them, the sourc♔es said.
The group o♒f suspects “had a previou෴s interaction with [Paterson’s] stepson,” according to Paterson’s spokesperson Sean Darcy.
The ex-governor, who is legally blind, sustained a head i🀅njury, while Sliwa suffered a face woun♏d and took the brunt of the attack, sources said.
They were both taken to NY-Presbyterian/Weill Corne🍷ll Medical Center “as a precaution,” Darcy said.
Paterson, who served as New York’s governor from 2008 to 2010, , the ex-wife of💖 Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa.
Sliwa and his ex-wife Mary s꧋hare one child, Anꦰthony.
𝓡Travor was previously busted in Brooklyn in late July on an aggravated unlicensed operator charge, in addition t𝓰o other traffic violations, sources said.
Back♛ in August 2009, he was arrested for gun possession, according to the sources.
It was not immediately known whether Minter had previous a🐬rrests on her rec🐎ord.
NYCHꦆA confirmed the two accu𝓰sed were still employed.
“They have not reported to work,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “This is an active NYPD investigation. We don’t have any additional information at this time.”
