Marshawn Lynch teases potential run for Oakland mayor

Marshawn Lynch has an impressive resume that includes five Pro Bowl appearances, a First-team All-Pro nod in 2012 and a Super Bowl title w👍ith the Seahawks.

But could he꧙ be preparing to add the mayor of a major American city to thaꦇt list?

Lynch certainly♕ seemed to hint at it during the podcast he co-hosts with California Gov. Gavin Newsom and his agent Doug Hendrickson, , when he recalled telling someone “It might be a possibility.”

Oaklanders are debating whether to recall Mayor Sheng Thao amid an uptick in crime in the city and a federal probe related to an influential family that donated to her and v꧅arious elected offici♑als.

Newsom and Hendrickson had a bit of fun with th꧒e idea, with Newsom telling the football great that polling data that he’s privy to had indicated that Lynch’s favorability in ꧑the city was through the roof, with about 43 percent having a positive view of the former NFLer.

The da💫ta also seemed to show that only 7 percent of people had an unfavorable view of the Oakland native.

Lynch did remain a bit coy whꩵile discussing the iꦇdea, though he never shot the idea down.

“We don’t want to jump the gun just yet, from what I was told,” Lynch said. “I gotta good internal team, yo❀u know, and I want to make sure I take this off-line with my in🅷ternal team and make sure this is something that we really wanna do.”

The former NFL running back said during the podcast that he had been encouraged to make the mayoral run while he was on the sideline of ESPN’s “College GameDay,” which recently visited UC Berkeley, where he played his college football.

Lynch joked that his actions as mayor could look like something that resembled the 2003 Chris Rock comedy flick🐷 “ Head of State.”

“Do you remember when Bernie Mac was walking through, when he was slappinﷺg the s–t out of everybody?” Lynch said. “That’s how I would be coming through there … slapping the s–t out of everybody, like, ‘Get your s–t together.’”
