Murder trial of tech consultant in the death of Cash App founder Bob Lee begins

The trial murder trial over Cas𒆙h꧙ App founder Bob Lee’s death began Monday, a year and a half after the multi-millionaire was found staggering about San Francisco bleeding out from stab wounds to the chest.

Prosecutors allege the 43-year-old entrepreneur was knifed to death by Nima Momeni, 40, over a dispute involving the accused’s married sister Khazar Elyassnia — whom Lee was allegedly having an affair with — and a drug-fueled party gone awry.

Momeni and Lee were spotted on security footage leaving the sister’s condo at the posh Millennium Tower at about 2 a.m. on April 4, 2023, b𒊎efore driving 💃off in Lee’s car.

A half hour later Lee was discovered blocks away, bleeding out and begging for꧙ he🧸lp before he died.

Police later discovered a kitchen knife at t💜he scene, which was꧂ determined to be from Elyassnia’s apartment — where she lives with her plastic-surgeon husband.

Prosecutors ar✨e expected to argue that Momeni lured Lee to a secluded place and then vicious🌼ly stabbed him.

Momeni w🌠as allegedly enraged over an incident in which his sister was supposedly drugged at a partyꦬ she attended with Lee and was almost raped by another attendee.

But the defense is likely to arg🧸ue Lee was the aggressor, and that while high on drugs took a knife from his sister’s ♌home and attacked Momeni, who was forced to defend himself.

Lee was found with both ketamine and other drugs in his system at the time of his death, and 🍰had reportedly been drinking with Momeni and Elyassni♋a the day before his murder.

Momeni and Eꦬlyassnia have been called exceptionally close by friends, including one who told Mission Local “[Nima] would do absolutely anything for [Khazar] and she would do anything for him.”

A tech entrepreneur himself, Momeni al𒐪legedlღy has history of substance abuse that an ex-girlfriend said could sometimes turn violent.

Lee — a divorced father of two girls — is also reported to have been a drug user who enjoyed a hard-partying lifestyle, and even attended underground sex parties with Elyassnia.

But he was also widely revered by some in the California tech industry, and his death was followed by letters from industry executives who descri🧜bed his brilliance and his generosity.

Momeni has pleaded not guilꦫty 📖to murder charges. He has been in custody since his arrest days after Lee’s death, and faces 26 years to life if convicted.

Opening statements in the trial are expected to begin Monday. The 🐷trial is expected to last into December.
