Montana Jordan teases the third ‘Big Bang Theory’ spinoff show: ‘It’s a mystery to me too’
It’s not Sheldon anymore.
The third spinoff show for “The Big Bang Theory” is here, putting Sheldon’s brother, Georgie (Montana J🐎ordan), in the driver’s seat.
🎃“I think I’ve met them all, when we started ‘Young Sheldon,’” Jordan, 21, told The Post, referring to the cast of “The Big Bang Th🧔eory.”
“Every sing💮le one of them was down to earth and nice people. Jim Parsons was mostly hands on with [‘Young Sheldon’ star Iain Armitage] and making sure he understood that role. But they kind of let the country kid do what he wants,” he said, referring to himself.
Premiering Thursday, Oct 17 (8 p.m.), “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” is a prequel to “The Big Bang Theory,” following Georgie and his wife, Mandy (Emily Osment), as they raise their baby and try to navigate life as young parents.
The original “The Big Bang Theory” drew when it was on the air from 2007 to 2019. That show followed Sheldon (Jim Parsons) a Texas-born former child prodigy turned physicist. Mayim Bialik and Kaley Cuoco co-starred.
Its first spinoff, “Young Sheldon” aired from 2017 to 2024 and explored Sheldon’s childhood – and Georgie and Mandy both appeared in that show as side characters. In the original “Big Bang Theory,” an older version of Georgie is played by Jerry O’Connell, and he runs a chain of tire stores. It’s been mentioned that he’s been married and 💫divorced several times.
“We all know the storyline is that Georgie gets married a couple times, but whether it’s with Mandy the next couple times, we don’t know. We’ll have to watch and find o෴ut,” said Jordan.
He added, “They mig⛦ht switch everything up on us. It’s a mystery to me too, I’m not 🍒too sure what they have in store.”
Jordan lives on a farm in Texas when he’s not acting, and similar to his character, he himself is a new youn😼g dad, having welcomed a daughter this year with his girlfriend, Jenna Wee🅷ks.
“I’ve got a four and a hꦰalf month o🌼ld at the house,” he said.
“When﷽ you got situations that you’re going through in real life, it makes it easier to bring it to life on the TV. It makes it look more natural, I guess, w💦hen I’m holding babies on set. But I’ve got two little nieces in real life, so I’ve been around babies a lot.”
The thick Texas twang that Georgie has on-screen෴ is 🅘also not an affect.
“A lot of people think it’s fake, but it ain’t,” said Jordan.
“I guess I was just lucky and blessed to have the start I did. Because the first movie I did, I got to keep my accent,” he said, r⛦eferring to the 2018 movie “The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter” starring Josh Brolin and Danny McBride.
“Then I got [the role] in ‘Young Sheldon’ and this [show], so I haven’t had a role where I’ve had to change my accent,” he added.
Because Jordan is relatively new to acting, he said he learns from Osment and𓂃 his other co-stars.
“I think she’s just a down to earth person and easy to get along with,” he said about Osment. “She’s very professional and good at what she does. I tell her all the time I’m good at sitting on the sidelines, watching what she does, and learning. I’m glad to be alongside her on this journey. And that’s not just her. I like to be a peepingꦺ Tom and just wa🍒tch everybody, see what they’re doing, and learn from them,” he said.
The show’ꦍs opening credits feature Jordan and Osment dancing.
“We learned [how to d💞ance], they brought in some ‘Dancing With the Stars’ people to teach us,” he explained.
“I think they gave us about four or five days to learn that. It wasn’t on my bucket list, but I guess if it was, I can mark it off now. There’s always laugh𒅌ter on set.”
Regarding the possibility of becoming more famous after getting his own show, since “The Big Bang Theory” franchise is popular, Jordan said, “I don’t even think about it. I don’t want that to interfere with anything I’ve got going on. I just try to bring my natural self to the TV.”
He added: “I find where I’m most grounded is back in Texas, so I try to get back to Texas on my farm. I try not to stay in the [Los Angeles] scene too much.”
