Game 5 of the NLCS got f♓risky despite what was lopsided score༒.
Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages hit a solo home run off Mets starter David Peterson with two outs in the top of the fourth inning, cutting Los Angeles’ deficit to 8-2.
He flipped his bat emphatically af🅺ter launc🅺hing the homer, seemingly to the displeasure of Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez.
He appeared to say something to Pages as he touch🌳ed home plate, and Pages subsequently waved his hand at Alvarez and shouted something back.
Dodgers reliever Brent Honeywell subsequently hit two Mets batters — Pete Alonso and Tyrone Taylor — in the bottom of the inning.
And they made the Dodgers pay — Winker drove in Alonso with a triple and Jeff McNeil later drove in Winker with a sacrifice fly.
A♌nd then Mets reliever Reed Garrett drilled Kiké Hernandez in the top of the fifth inning.
And after that, Pages made the Mets pay again with a three-run blast — and he bat-flipped once again — as the Dodgers m꧃ade🌄 the score 10-5.
Prior to the exchange between Alvarez and Pages, Peterson appeared to share a few words with Dodgers infielder Max 🌃Muncy near first ba🥂se.
The Mets’ desperation showed in the early innings as they quickly jumped out to a big lead.
But after a Mookie Betts homerꦫ in the sixth, the Dodgers made it 10-6 to make things very i𒁏nteresting.
