Deion Sanders has a boneā to pick with former president Baracź¦æk Obama.
The bombastic Colorado football coach, 57, took exception to comments made about his Buffaloes by Obama, 63, in Arizona, where Sanders’ squad improved to 5-2 with a blowout win over the Wildcats on Saturday.
āPresident Obama is everything to me,ā Sanders said postgame. āI mean, I love him, I admire himš . I respect him tremendously. But I heard what he said, you know?ā
Bešfore Colorado decimated Arizona, 34-7, Obama ā who spent time in the state to campaign on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris, the DšÆemocratic presidential nominee ā tipped his hat to the Wildcats.
“As we landed, we saw Coloradoās busses at the airport,ā Obama said Friday, as the mention of Colorado elicited boos from the crowd, . āAnd I know Coloradoās got a couple good players. But I also know you guys have beaten them twice in a row, so donāt bet against the Wildcats tomorrow.ā
The Wildcats dropped to 3-4 with the loss.
Sandšers continued to playfully rib Obama in his postgame session.
“President, I heard what you said, man. Like cāmon, cāmon. Thatās why I really donāt get into politics. Iām into people. Because politicians, they play the political game, and he was here and had to play the political games that they have two good players. We got more than two good players. But then youāre here (in Tucson), so you have to support that,” Sanders said.
With the latest victory, Sanders and the Buffaloes ą¼ŗhave already won more football games than theyź¦ did all of last year, when they finished at 4-8.
Saturday’s win also puts them at 3-1 in the Big 12 ahead of their matchup next week with Cincinnati (5-2 overall).
Tš he Buffaloes boast projected first-round pick Shedeur Sanders at quarterback and two-way star Travis Hunter, a wide receiver and cornerback, among other prominent players.
āBut president, cāmon man,ā Sanders added toward Obama. āYou my man. I love you, I apprešciate you, but cāmon dawg. God bless you. I still love you.ā
