The Steelers’ home state, Pennsylvania, is a critical swing state for Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in their race to the required 270 electoral votes — and the election leaked into the game.
During the Steelersā 37-15 viš¤”ctory, a woman ran onto the field in the third quarter carrying a sign that read, āTrump secure borderā and āKamala open border,ā
The woman was quš„ickly escorteą¼ŗd off the field by security and authorities.
āThank you to the Steelers fans for the great reception tonią²ght,ā Trump wrote on Truth Social following the game. āNovember 5th will be the most important in the history of our Country! MAGA 2024!!!ā
The presidential candidate rallied earlier this weekend with ex-Steeler stars Antonio Brown and LeāVeon Bell, both ofš¤Ŗ whom endorsed the GOP nominee.
Before opening kickoff, Brown, the controversial ex-wide receiver, and Bell štossed out yellow Trump-Vance rally towels outside the stadium and set up a table to register new voters, according to social meš¼dia footage.
Trump, meanwhile, pź¦osted an AI-generated image of himself in ša Steelers jersey on social media leading up to the Week 7 matchup.
The Republican nominee also has a connection to the Jets. The teamās owner, Woody Još¼hnson, served as US ambassador to the United Kingdom during Trumpās first stint in the Ovalš“ Office.
A Steelers spokesperson made clear on Sunday that Trump was a guest of a sš¶uite holder and not the team.
The Steelers improved to a 5-2 record folšlowing Sundayās win while the Jets fell to a disappointing 2-5.
