Juan Soto continues his Yankees playoff showcase with key Game 2 homer

Juan Soto made his mark in the Yankees’ 4-2 Game 2 loss to the Dodgers on Saturday night in Los Angeles.

With two outs and no one on in the third inning, the Boꦍmbers slugger blast a long home run to right field off Dodgers starter Yoshi🥀nobu Yamamoto to tie the game at 1-1.

It was the fourth homer of the postseason for Soto, who is expected ꦺto draw a lot of high-priced interest from suitors in free agency this offseason🌟.

Soto also hit the game-winning three-run homer in the 10th inning of Game 5 of the ALCS against the Guardians to carry the Yankees into the World Series.

Soto’s blast followed the Dodgers’ Tommy Edman’s solo homer to left field in the second inning off of Carlos Rodon.

Teoscar Hernandez answered Soto’s shot with a two-run homer in the bottom of the frame to give the Dodgers a two-run lead.

Freddie Freeman, the newly minted Yankees killer, followed Hernandez’s blast with a solo homer of his own to give the Dodgers a 4-1 lead after three innings, and Los Angeles never looked back.

Soto also had a ninth-inning single that helped starter a Yankees’ rally in which they plated home on run on a Giancarlo Stanton RBI single.

But with the bases loaded and one out, the rally fizzled as Anthony Volpe struck out and Jose Trevino flew out to center to send the Yankees’ back to The Bronx in a 2-0 hole.
