Dozens injured in horrifying ski lift collapse in Spain

Dozens of people were injured Saturday when a ski lift collapsed š”‰at a resort in the Spanish region of Aragon, according to local reports.

At least 30 people wešŸ”ÆšŸŒ re injured when the lift apparently plunged to the slope below, including two who were seriously injured,

Ten people in total were rushed to the hospital.

Another 80 were trapped on 😼the damaged chairlift in the immediate aftermath of the shocking accident at the ski resort AstĆŗn, but hašŸ™ˆve since been evacuated.

ā€œIt’s like a cable has come off, the chairs have bounced and peop🐭le have been thrown off,ā€ one witness told State TV channel TVE.

Several helicoptšŸ·ers were deployed to rescue those trapped and transfer the injured to nearby hospitals.

The cause of the accident is currently unknown.

ā€œWhile we await the final progress of the two seriously injured, fortunately the accident in AstĆŗn has had less impact than expected. The speed and efficiency of the public services involved in the rescue operation and assistance to those affected have had a lot to do with this,”
