Ben Affleck stars in Dunkin’ Super Bowl 2025 commercial — 1 year after ex Jennifer Lopez’s cameo
Ben Affleck runs on Dunkin’.
The actor stars in for Super Bowl 2025 with his brother and fellow actor, Casey Affleck.
The aired at the beginning of the game on Sunday, with more surprise appearances from former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, 72, his girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, Donnie Wahlberg and Druski.
Last year, Ben, 52, did the Super Bowl 2024 Dunkin’ ad with his then-wife, Jennifer Lopez, before their split.
The full 2025 ad features Ben resurrecting the DunKings with his brother. They go to a Java Jam where they sign T-shirts for fans including Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, who reprise their roles as Jay and Silent Bob.
Belichick and his girlfriend show up as new members of the DunKings in Matt Damon and Tom Brady’s absences. Belichick had on an orange DunKings tracksuit that matches Ben and Casey’s outfits, while Hudson wore a hot pink DunQueens sweatsuit.
The Affleck brothers end up convincing “Succession” star Jeremy Strong to join their guy group. They find him immersed in a coffee can covered in thick, slimy coffee grounds.
Strong reveals his inspiration is “Dunkin’ is Boston. Boston is Paul Revere.” He transforms into Paul Revere as the DunKings face off against the Drip Squad, led by Druski.
Strong as Paul Revere arrives and announces “America Runneth on Dunkin’!” The two teams agree to a truce and a Dunkin’ promo with a new DunKings $6 meal deal.
At the end of the commercial, Wahlberg makes a cameo also dressed in the orange DunKings tracksuit.
Ben freaks out when he sees Wahlberg and runs to hug him.
Belichick and Hudson went public with their relationship in January 2024. However, they’ve been dating since 2022, according to a message she shared on New Year’s Eve, indicating that it was their third holiday spent together.
Hours before the Super Bowl, the couple sparked engagement rumors as Hudson rocked a ring on her left hand as the couple stepped out for brunch in New Orleans.
Hudson also wore a Falcons Super Bowl championship T-shirt to poke fun at the championship-less franchise that fell at the hands of Belichick as one of his greatest Super Bowl victories with the Patriots in 2017.
Rumors of an engagement also swirled briefly on Thursday when the couple attended the NFL Honors on Thursday night and Hudson was seen wearing a big ring.
The shorter ad, which aired as a teaser during the 2025 Grammy Awards last weekend, begins with the Affleck brothers in costume as the DunKings. They knock on the door to a dressing room where Strong is inside.
“Jeremy is a method actor. He’s not coming out until he’s ready,” Casey, 49, tells his older sibling.
“What is that?” Ben asks in a deep Boston accent, as Casey explains, “Acting method from the book!”
“There’s a book?” a confused Ben says.
Casey tells Ben that Strong, 46, is “preparing” and “doing his research” in his room.
“I never did no research on nothing. Look where I’m at,” the “Argo” actor responds.
“Exactly,” Casey notes, as Ben replies, “Look where I’m at. We’re big time now.”
The duo barges into the room to discover Strong emerging from a Dunkin’ can covered in thick, slimy coffee grounds.
“We’re doing a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial, right?” the “Succession” star asks the Affleck brothers. “I’m just trying to find the character.”
Strong adds, “I think I found a way in. You’re from Boston, I’m from Boston. Dunkin’ is Boston. Boston is Paul Revere. One if by land, two if by sea. Redcoats are coming.”
“You’re an artist, and I know what that’s like,” Ben says in a Boston accent. “But how long is it gonna take for the being method?”
“I’ll be ready in like three hours,” Strong tells Ben.
Casey then whispers to his brother, “You should have paid for Matt,” referring to Ben’s BFF Matt Damon, who appeared in the Dunkin’ Super Bowl ad last year as well.
“I told you that,” Ben says to Casey.
Strong has previously been slammed for his method acting by his former “Succession” co-stars Brian Cox and Kieran Culkin.
Last year, Affleck was joined by Lopez, 55, Damon, 54, and Tom Brady for the Dunkin’ ad that aired during Super Bowl LVIII.
The commercial featured Ben as a middle-aged rapper, decked out in foolish Dunkin’ duds, who busts into Lopez’s recording studio and performs with his fellow DunKings, which includes Damon and Brady.
The year before, Lopez similarly made an appearance in Ben’s 2023 Dunkin’ commercial, when she pulls into one of the company’s drive-throughs to discover the “Air” actor working there.
Lopez filed for divorce from Ben in August 2024, two years after marrying and taking their second shot at love. They finalized their divorce last month.
