Miranda Devine: Disgraceful Dems callously politicized DJ Daniel, Laken Riley – and sank to a new low in the process

So much for Democratic w♍omen being more compassio🉐nate than the rest of us. Uh-uh. They have hearts of stone.

Take cute DJ Daniel, the pint-sized 13-year-old boy with brain cancer who dreams of being a cop. There shouldn’t have been a dry eye in the House when President Trump announced in the middle of⛦ his speech to Congress Tuesday night that he was making little DJ an honorary Secret Service ag🦩ent.

But one side of the chamber was bone dry, their desiccate💃d hearts a perfect reflection of Democrats’ barren ideas for revival.

As Republicans applauded and DJ’s face lit up, Trump asked his new Secret Service director, Sean Curran, “to officially make you an agent of the United 𓆉States Secret Service.” The little boy’s spontaneous hug of the usually stone-faced Curran would melt the coldest heart.

Except for the heartless Democrats scowling in the House, sitting on their hands, determined to act like sullen adolescents. Except for the 𓆉Trump-deranged MSNBC hosts Nicolle Wallace and Rachel Maddow, whose putrid comments about the touchin🎃g moment took their network to lows nobody thought possible.

“This is disgusting — the president made a spectacle out of [DJ],” snarled Maddow. Wallace then dragged DJ into her obsession over the Capitol riot: “I h🐼ope he never has to defend the US Capitol against Donald Trump’s supporters and if he does, I hope he isn’t one of the six who loses his life to suicide.”

Stunning callousness

Their callousness was remarkable and telling. They didn’t see DJ as a suffering child thrilled to achieve a dream, but as a partisan prop to bash Trump. Their first instinct is🌳 politics. They couldn’t pause for even a moment to get in touch wℱith their humanity.

Yet they will gush all day long about their compassion for the hypothetical d💜owntrodden they supposedly defend against cruel Trump.

As Trump’s press secret♓ary, Karoline Leavitt, put it in a scorched-earth monologue in ꧙the White House press room the next day:

“It’s sad and frankly pathetic that Democrats and liberal𒈔s in the legacy media continue to allow their hatred for the president to override their love for our country.”

Leavitt pointed out that Democrats could not find it in themselves to applaud the fa🍃milies of Laken Riley, 22, and Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, who were raped and murdered by some of the illegal-alien predators Joe Biden allowed into the country.

They could not be bothered to stand for Payton McNabb, who suffered a traumatic brain injury when she was smashed in the face with a volle⭕yball by a biological male playing in the women’s division.

These same Democratic women wore pink into the chamber in symbolic support o📖f women against a president🔥 they falsely claim is a misogynist, and yet they could not be more anti-woman if they tried.

Throughout Biden’s presidency, as the border invasion escalated, they hardened their hearts to the plight of women and girls like Laken and Jocelyn and closed their ears to pleas from the girl🍃s’ grieving mothers.

Not one of these fake feminists voted for the Republican-led bill on Moꦑnday night to block transgender athletes from playing in women’s sports. They don’t care how many Payton M😼cNabbs get smashed in the face.

S꧙en. Elissa Slotkin of Michigಞan, the “CIA Democrat” chosen to give the reply speech to Trump, did not even bother to vote.

Jocelyn’s dignified young mother, Alexis Nungaray, 28, told Sean Hannity immediately after Trump’s speech how moved she was “to be sitting in that area to remember the life that Jocelyn had [but] I found it verꦺy cowardly that a lot of the Democrats didn’t stand or clap. It was v🍎ery shameful.”

Then she made the most astute political assessment you will hear: “They don’t stand for anything humane. They don’t stand for us as citizens; they don’t stand for our security; they don’t stand for the honorable thin🍷gs that we need in this country. It’s disgraceful to us as US citizens that those are the people we have here in🍨 the House and Senate.”

In the eight months since her daughter was murdered, Nungaray has met and spoken with Trump “several times, and every time he was very humane, very fatherly, very caring and compassionate. I’ve heard zero … of anything from the Biden-Harris administration.”

The vaunted💛 compassion and empathy of Joe Biden could be summed up in his complete blanking of the victims of his policies.

Lack of empathy

Last year at his State of the Union address, Biꦏden had to be shamed into mentioning Riley’s name by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (๊R-Ga.), who called out, “Say her name.” Even then, Biden got the name wrong, calling her “Lincoln.”

The same striking lack of empathy was evident when he kept looking at his watch during the “dignified transfer” ceremony for the coffins of the 13 US military heroes killed during his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. He and his fellow Democrats showed no compassion for the grieving famil꧟ies, instead treating them like nuisances who needed to shut up.

But Biden’s callousn🐭ess was not an aberration in his party. It has become the Democrats’ signature trait.

Perhaps when you feign empathy for so long and wield victimhood as a cudgel against your political foes, you can no longer feel genuine compassion for anyone beyond yo😼urself. You pretend so much that you end up losing your soul.

By contrast, the man they constantly malign as an orange monster has shown nothing but compassion for the victims of Biden’s benightedꦇ presidency, including behind the scenes when he reaps no political benefit.

Trump’s enemies pervert his burning resolve to end the Ukraine war into some secret affinity for Vladimir 🔜Putin, but here again, Democrats are projec🐻ting their own malignancies onto him. He just wants to prevent World War III. Privately and publicly, he tells people he sees the young soldiers dying every week like his own sons, and he wants the killing to stop.

But pitiless Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth War🐲ren and congenital warmongers like ex-GO🎉P Rep. Liz Cheney are content with a forever war.

As Leavitt ꦉsaid, the only thing Democrats cheered Tuesday night was mention of Ukraine.

“Do you want ꦛto keep it going for another five year൲s?” Trump paused to ask their side of the chamber when they erupted into applause when he complained the US has sent hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine’s defense “with no security, with no anything.”

Warren, clapping so enthusiastically that she almost levඣitated out of her chair🌳, caught Trump’s eye.

“Yeah? You would say [that]. Pocahontas says yes,” he said, using his favorite nickname for the pretend Indian. “Two thousand people are being killed every single week … I want it to stop.”

The American people are with Trump, even if the New York Times trashed his speech🍒 as “90-Plus Minutes of Bad Moments.”

A CBS News poll fo𒊎und that 76% of people who watched the speech approved and thought Trump was “presidential.” Most said it made them feel “hopeful” and “proud.”

Even CNN’s instant poll found 69% of speech-watchers had a “very positive” or “somewhat positive” reaction to Trump’s words.

It’s time the Democraꩲts found a heart or they’ll lose their country.
