While some stars turned heads with daring looks at the 2025 Met Gala, others gave fashion’s biggest night a miss altogether.
On Monday’s the who’s who of Hollywood assembled at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to pay homage to the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme of the night.
This year’s theme celebrated the styles of black dandy men and “the importance of clothing in style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.”
But while the blue carpet became a stomping ground for some of the biggest stars belonging to the Hollywood elite, there were a slew of notable absences.
Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce gave the fashion extravaganza a after being unable to make it due to their work schedules, sources .
Swift hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2016, meanwhile, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has yet to make his Met Gala debut.
Jennifer Lopez was also a no-show. Instead, the “On The Floor” hitmaker, 55, was reportedly busy shooting her new film, “Office Romance.”
Also absent from the high-fashion fête were Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds.
Their absence might not come as a surprise to many, given Lively’s ongoing legal feud with her “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni.
Also missing from the star-studded soirée was Naomi Campbell, who announced that she would be on social media.
“Congratulations to Anna Wintour, the brilliant designers, the dedicated Met Gala team, and stunning attendees of tonight’s extraordinary celebration,” the supermodel on Monday.
Campbell went on to acknowledge she was “honored” to be invited, but nonetheless “regretfully cannot make it.”
Meanwhile, Timothée Chalamet skipped the Met Gala to watch the New York Knicks game from home — despite his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, .
Supermodel and new mom Gisele Bündchen also stayed home during this year’s event, which took place just months after she with boyfriend Joaquim Valente in February.
Justin Bieber surprisingly skipped out on fashion festivities this year, despite his wife solo.
Elsewhere, Sarah Jessica Parker — a previous Met Gala attendee — was also a no-show, though she did reveal ahead of time the reason for her absence.
“I have to work,” the “Sex and the City” alum told last week. “But there’s going to be so much to see, and I look forward to seeing what everybody does, and how they interpret the theme and the homework they did for the assignment.”
Despite receiving an invitation, “Snow White” star Rachel Zegler also decided to give this year’s Met Gala a miss as she gears up for her starring role in “Evita” on London’s West End.
Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco were also notably absent, as was Ariana Grande — despite her “Wicked” co-star Cynthia Erivo strutting the red carpet.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan also had several absences, with Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and their mom Kris Jenner not making an appearance.
