Adviser reveals how Biden ‘totally f–ked’ Kamala Harris’ 2024 election chances

Former President Joe Biden “totally f–ked” Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 bid for the White House by refusing to drop out of the race earlier, a campaign aide said.

David Plouffe, a key adviser for the Harris campaign, blamed the then-veep’s election loss squarely on the then-commander-in-chief, according to the forthcoming book “Original Sin” by Alex Thompson and Jake Tapper.

Plouffe — a senior adviser in Barack Obama’s White House — was quoted describing Harris’ 107-day campaign sprint against former and future President Donald Trump as a “f–king nightmare,” according to an excerpt first published by the Guardian.

“And it’s all Biden,” he told the authors. “He totally f–ked us.”

Plouffe said he flagged concerns about Biden’s mental and physical ability after receiving a flurry of calls from worried donors in the wake of the incumbent’s catastrophic June 27, 2024, debate performance against Trump.

However, Plouffe claimed he was repeatedly informed Biden could win a second term.

In the aftermath of Harris’ loss, Plouffe was not immune from finger-pointing among Democratic insiders.

One source close to the Harris campaign told The Post in the aftermath of the election that Plouffe and another Obama alum, Stephanie Cutter had “misjudged” what issues were most important to voters.

The duo “tried an Obama play with a non-Obama candidate,” this person said at the time. “They are the worst.”

“Cutter and Plouffe were doing messaging and ads and they misjudged what people cared about because cable news and Twitter are not real life,” the source added. “Biden should have never run [in 2024] AND the party is too far left.”

Two days after the election, Plouffe temporarily deleted his X account after posting a message that the Harris campaign had “dug out of a deep hole but not enough.”

Separately, the White House was also publicly insisting Biden was in good health.

Despite clinging on for three more weeks post-debate, Biden ended up dropping out of the race July 21 — a move that other aides agreed upended Harris’ chances.

“I love Joe Biden. When it comes to decency, there are few in politics like him. Still, it was a disservice to the country and to the party for his family and advisers to allow him to run again,” one senior aide was quoted as saying in the book.

“It was an abomination. He stole an election from the Democratic Party; he stole it from the American people,” a prominent Democratic strategist added.

Biden, his family, aides and the liberal media have been ripped for dismissing mounting concerns about the ailing commander-in-chief ahead of the election amid a spate of physical stumbles, verbal gaffes and moments of confusion.

A Biden spokesperson, meanwhile, dismissed the book’s claims of an apparent cover-up, saying, “Yes, there were physical changes as he got older, but evidence of aging is not evidence of mental incapacity.”

“And so far, we are still waiting for someone, anyone, to point out where Joe Biden had to make a presidential decision or make a presidential address where he was unable to do his job because of mental decline. In fact, the evidence points to the opposite — he was a very effective president.”
